November 7, 2023, 7pmWhat’s Up with Flower Shows?
Livonia Garden Club meeting on November 7th will be at Greenmead’s Blue House.  Meet & greet stars at 6:30pm.  Program starts at 7pm. The Senior Center will be used for election day.
Club member Karen Block will lead a workshop to create a sparkling doodad for your garden. Bring scissors and bead crimpers, if you have them.
 
January 2, 2024, 7pm  – Good Bug/Bad Bug
Carol Brodbeck will teach us the difference between a good bug and a bad one in our gardens and how we can create a safe habitat to lure the good ones to keep the bad ones under control.
 
February 6, 2024 7pm  – Yay! Craft Night!
What is a flower show? Who does what? What goes where? Club experts will share the basics of flower shows and answer your questions.
 
March 5, 2024, 7pm Using Native Plants in Our Environment
Livonia’s own Bob Hauser will present “Landscaping with the primary purpose of protecting the local ecosystem and wildlife that in turnsupports us.”
 
April 2, 2024, 7pm All About Roses
George Papadelis of Telly’s Greenhouse will discuss the different types of roses, where they are best used, and their care, including disease control, pruning, etc.
 
May 7, 2024, 7pm Our Very Own Flower Show
Practice makes perfect. Practice helps remove the apprehension from trying something outside our comfort zone. The Flower Show Committee will host an unofficial flower show in our meeting space. Members are encouraged to submit a floral design or horticultural specimen. Helpful feedback provided by club experts.
 

May 18, 2024 – Annual Plant Share Day at Greenmead. Divide, pot up and label your perennials and houseplants (indicate sun or shade). Set-up at 8:30a.m.; public invited 9-10 a.m.
